Luxury Gokyo Valley Renjo La Pass Trek – 16 Days

The Gokyo Valley is the second most popular trekking trail in the Everest region, renowned for its pristine beauty and serene landscapes. What sets this trail apart are the stunning Gokyo Lakes, the panoramic hike to Gokyo Ri (5,357m), and views of more than ten 8,000-meter peaks including Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu. These features make the Gokyo Valley one of the best trekking routes in the Khumbu (Everest) region.

Renjo La Pass – A Hidden Gem

Renjo La Pass, located at an altitude of approximately 5,360 meters, is one of the most beautiful among the three high passes of the Khumbu region. The trail from Gokyo Lake crosses Renjo La and continues to Lungden and Thame, offering a unique circular route rather than retracing the same path back to Namche Bazaar.

The trek begins in Lukla and follows the trail to Namche Bazaar, then veers away from the busy Everest Base Camp route. From Namche, the journey continues through Mong La, Phortse Tenga, Dole, Machhermo, and Gokyo Lake, then over Renjo La Pass to Lungden, Thame, and back to Namche and Lukla.

Luxury Lodge Experience

This trekking route offers excellent comfort options:

  • In Lukla, Phakding, and Namche (5 nights), you'll stay at luxury lodges like the Mountain Lodges of Nepal (MLN), known for their premium services and comfort.

  • In Dole, Machhermo, and Gokyo, deluxe lodges with attached bathrooms and hot showers provide a cozy and pleasant stay.

  • At Lungden, a comfortable and well-maintained lodge awaits you after crossing Renjo La.

Why Choose This Trek?

Since the Gokyo Valley route is less crowded than the traditional Everest Base Camp trek, and because it features comfort and luxury lodges throughout, this journey offers the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. Our Luxury Gokyo Valley Renjo La Pass Trek showcases the two pristine highlights of the region: Gokyo Ri and Renjo La Pass.
(Note: “La” means “hill” in the Sherpa language, and “pass” refers to a mountain crossing.)

The trail from Namche to Dole offers some of the best views of Mount Everest and neighboring peaks. An acclimatization day in Machhermo helps prevent AMS (altitude sickness), and a short hike to the hilltop viewpoint provides incredible scenery. From there, the trail leads to the breathtaking Gokyo Valley, with its deep blue lakes and the iconic climb to Gokyo Ri, also known as Gokyo Peak.

After enjoying Gokyo Ri’s panoramic views, the trek continues to Lungden and Thame, crossing the spectacular Renjo La Pass, where you'll witness a sweeping Himalayan panorama of over 100 snow-capped peaks. One of the most rewarding aspects of this trek is the loop-style route, starting on one side of the Khumbu and finishing on another—adding variety and a deeper sense of exploration.

Why This Trek Is Special?

  • Combines two pristine Himalayan regions: Gokyo Valley and Renjo La Pass

  • Offers a comfortable luxury trekking experience in a less crowded area of the Everest region

  • Provides 360° mountain panoramas of Everest and other major peaks

  • Loop-style route enhances the adventure without retracing steps

This 16-day luxury adventure is perfect for trekkers seeking both serenity and scenery, with the added comfort of hand-picked lodges and personalized service. Explore the Everest region in style—this is high-altitude trekking at its finest.
