Manaslu Trekking/ Manaslu Circuit Trekking - 23 Nights/ 24 Days

Manaslu trekking also known as Manaslu circuit trekking normally starts in Gorkha, first heading east and then north up the valley of the Budhi Gandaki, finally making a circuit behind Mt. Manaslu (8163m). Over the Larkya La (5213m) there is huge amount of climbing as you trek up and down over ridges and onto shelves to bypass cliffs. Manaslu round trekking trail is rough and steep and it offers literally hangs on a bluff high above the river and many bridges. Manaslu circuit trekking is geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating however it is quite challenging while crossing the Larkya La Pass.

Manaslu TrekkingManaslu trekking region has unique environment and exceptionally rich bio diversity which have made this region as the finest tourist destination of Nepal for many years. The region consists of varieties of cultural diversities, natural scenery of the majestic Himalayan ranges, high altitude romantic glacier lakes and fascinating flora and fauna, all these natural and cultural features of this region have made it one of the most popular trekking region of Nepal and is restricted area requiring special trekking permit to get entry into the region for foreigners. Mountain Sherpa trekking company arrange special permit for Manaslu trekking.

Manaslu trekking was forbidden to the tourists till 1991. When for the first time the Japanese Expedition team ascent the Manaslu Peak (8157m.), it became known as "Japanese Mountain". Since it is still a restricted area special permit from the government of Nepal is needed. This trek begins from Gorkha or Aarughat, Trishuli Bazzar or Dhading and is usually done in a well-organized camping group as well as local tea houses at these days. Manaslu trekking is culturally and geographically important and fascinating which is possible to make longer or shorter as your whole timeframe. After Manaslu trekking, it is still possible to join popular Annapurna circuit trek by crossing popular thorong la pass (5416m) and trek can end at jomsom and fly back to Pokhara.

In Manaslu region, the Tibetans of the upper Budi-Gandaki, the region also known as Nupri (the western mountains), and the Tsum Valley are direct descendants of Tibetan immigrants. Their speech, dress and customs are exclusively Tibetan. The trade between the area and Tibet still goes on.
